RADIESSE BIOSTIMULATOR

Short Summary

Radiesse Biostimulator is a cutting-edge dermal filler that not only addresses volume loss  but also stimulates your body’s own collagen production improve skin quality. This dual-action treatment ensures immediate plumping effects and long-term skin rejuvenation. Ideal for treating wrinkles, fine lines, and volume loss, Radiesse helps you achieve a youthful and natural look.

Radiesse is a FDA approved product and the key ingredient is calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in an aqueous gel carrier. When injected, these microspheres provide immediate volume and lift to the treated areas. Over time, the gel is absorbed, and the CaHA particles stimulate the production of collagen, the protein responsible for giving skin its strength and elasticity. This dual-action effect means that Radiesse continues to enhance your skin’s appearance even after the initial effects wear off.

Additional information

  • Radiesse is composed of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a gel carrier. This biocompatible substance, similar to minerals naturally found in the human body, provides immediate volume upon injection and stimulates the body’s collagen production over time. This dual-action mechanism leads to long-lasting results, typically lasting 12 to 18 months, as the CaHA microspheres create a scaffold for new collagen formation.

In comparison, hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers are made of a naturally occurring substance in the skin that attracts and retains moisture. HA fillers add volume by drawing water to the injection site, offering immediate but temporary results, generally lasting 6 to 12 months. While Radiesse is ideal for deep wrinkles, significant volume loss, hand rejuvenation, and can be hyperdiluted for acne scars and cellulite, HA fillers are better suited for fine lines, moderate wrinkles, and delicate areas like the lips. The choice between Radiesse and HA fillers depends on the specific needs and desired outcomes of the patient.

  • Common side effects include temporary redness, swelling, pain, bruising, itching, and lumps or bumps at the injection site. Serious side effects are rare and these can be discussed with your doctor at the consultation.

  • Radiesse typically lasts for up to one year, although some patients have seen the effects last for up to two years. The results of Radiesse treatments are long-lasting due to its collagen bio-stimulator properties, which continue to improve over time as collagen production increases in the body. The longevity of the results can vary depending on individual metabolism and other factors, and periodic maintenance treatments are recommended to sustain the results.
